Thank you so much for your support of the Farmers Market at Ix for the entire 2021 season. Look for us to reopen in 2022 on Jan. 8. Keep you eyes on the Market Central Community section for details. Many people ask why there are two markets in Charlottesville now. When COVID hit our community in winter 2020, we were just winding up the 4th Winter Market at Ix. The Market at Ix opened the first winter farmers market in Charlottesville in 2018. When COVID arrived, the City Market converted to a drive through, and online ordering system only. That model did not fit many vendors, and SNAP customers would lose access to local food. These vendors asked us to keep the Market at Ix open the full season. After 2 years, of serving more vendors and customers, there is not enough space for the 2 markets to merge into one market without leaving vendors and customers behind. So we are ready to open our third season supporting the local food system at the Ix Art Park.

We welcome input from the community through participation on the Market Central Board, volunteering, fundraising and receiving feedback. The community is an essential part of the market!
