Farmers Market at Ix, Jan 28, 2023

The market is growing! Vendors are beginning to return from a winter rest- who can blame them for taking a break? Not just former vendors are applying. Many new producers would like to join our ranks. This week we welcome Farm Fresh Fusion, a prepared foods vendor. We mistakenly thought Big Soup was setting up last week, but it is this week that she will be here. We are looking forward to that. Another new vendor is Amoeba Clay, who makes earings of clay, A handful of vendors are returning for the first time in 2023: Double H Farm, Kank’s Store, Pine Resin Sculptures (!st place winner of the Richmond Crossroads Gallery competition in sculpture), Made by Momo, Angel’s Afghan Cuisine, and Soul Soleil Farm are all returning this week. New products are: adult hot chocolate at Odyssey Chocolate, new meat sources from Indigenous Harvest, meat and honey from Swallow Barn farm. Bone broth to drink or for soups is availabe at Natural Roots Farm.

Remember the winter market stays open until 1:00, so you have time to shop and have breakfast, brunch, and/or lunch!

We are grateful to announce that Market Central received $2500 in grant funds from Bama Works Fund of the Dave Matthews Band in December. You will see improvements in composting and trash mitigation at the market. While we are supporting local farms and producers, we do not want to be creating negative environmental impacts. You can currently use our “Take a Bag, Leave a Bag” solution, if you find that you’ve left your reusable bag at home. More information will be coming out about programs to help us be greener.

We are looking for a cheese vendor if you know of anyone. Help us help you make the market meet your needs.

See you at the market.

The following vendors have signed up for the Jan 28 market.
