Farmers Market Week at Farmers Market at Ix, Aug 12, 2023

Farmers Markets are good for communities in so many ways. Celebrate the part you play in supporting local farms, the local economy, consuming healthy food in a sustainable way, and creating a diverse and supportive community through sharing food and art.

This week at the Market at Ix, you will find a vendor in every spot, showcasing the remarkable local talent in growing and making food, and art. We come together to acknowledge our good fortune to have a space such as the Ix Art Park, and the two non-profits, Ix Art Park and Market Central, who host the vendors and customers. Farmers Markets Don’t Just Happen! Give yourself a pat on the back for supporting them!

The activities include Market Bingo, games by Charlotttesville Scrabble Team, the Outdoor Art Room, and distribution of information about food business development opportunities sponsored by Bread and Roses, and Market Central under our Just Food Just Economy grant.

After the market, starting at 3:00, check out day two of Soul Fest, Black Business Expo, the three day celebration of area black businesses.
