Farmers Market at Ix, April 20, 2024, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00

As the weather warms, almost all of our farmers are back. Orion Family Farms had to take a break due to storm damage to their flowers, but they will return next week. In the meantime, we were able to find a spot for Laurel Gardens with seasonal landscaping plants. Most of the vegetable growers also have a great inventory of garden plants. Food producing plants are SNAP and Fresh Match eligible. Cut flowers abound with Sweet Greens, Free Union Grass Farm, and Elena Day Pies and Produce. And most importantly, local strawberries are here, to compliment the fresh spring greens, radishes, eggs, honey, mushrooms, etc.

This week at the FM@Ix, we are a TomTom Festival community partner. The market will highlight what we can do together. The vendors, Market Central managers, community kitchen and business training partners, Bread and Roses and Charlottesville Investment Collaborative, respectively, will represent their programs. The community will have a chance to express their vision for future market improvements on the Dot Survey, discover vendors through participating in the Entrepreneur Scavenger Hunt, and help Market Central with a donation to meet the 25% match for the Farmers Market Promotion Program federal grant.
