Market Central’s Farmers Market at Ix, March 1, 2025

How did we get to March already? We welcome the warmer weather, although the high winds will not be helpful. Our mantra to find a permanent home for the market where we can make investments in a secure infrastructure comes to mind. If we could do that at Ix, that would be fine! Like the returning robins, the warm weather brings out the vendors! Most vegetable farmers aren’t quite ready, but meat producers are plentiful. Herbal, craft, baked goods, and prepared foods products are too numerous to list: please check the vendor map linked below for the names and locations of all vendors.

Of note this week, Deep Roots Milling is returning with their monthly supply of freshly milled local flour. Wayfinder Holistics is a new vendor with meat and herbal products. Gathered Threads returns if you miss your kimchi, herbs, vegetables, and plants. Eggs are supplied by many vendors with various prices, including the return of Wanders Hill. Check around! Fermented Fire hot sauce makes a rare appearance from Roanoke. Stock up while you have the chance. Find Avegutto and Chevy chase farm for sourdough and wheat-based breads, filling the gap created by inevitable changes in business from former vendors. Stroopwafel Sisters return with those lovely cinnamon caramel stroopwafels and also breakfast sausage rolls. Seasonal fruits and vegetables are offered by Bellair Farm, Singing Earth, and Agriberry. Olive Branch Gardens, Bee Conscious and Bellair offer microgreens. Unfortunately, our pickle specialist, Tilman’s, is out this week.

We think you’ll find great products for your pantry and breakfast this week. Come to the Market Central booth for questions, comments, tokens, SNAP and insulated branded market bags (for a donation of $15). There are open positions on the Market Central Board. See you at the market!
