Farmers Market at Ix, December 10, 2022

Hello Friends,

You’ve come to the right space to find out what’s going on at the Markets at Ix. If you had not heard, the last 2022 regular Saturday Market is on Dec. 17. But not to worry, there will still be two more market shopping opportunities on Dec. 21, and Dec.22, in the evening from 4:00 to 8:00 each night. The Winter Solstice Markets will celebrate the end of the season with Vision Barbeque, seasonal baked goods, arts and crafts, face-painting, wreath making, a bar for hot cider, hot chocolate and cocktails, and a holiday winter experience with lights and decorations.

That said, the business of the Saturday market goes on, with a full house Saturday the 10th. Although several farm vendors have put their farms to bed for winter, winter greens, root crops, cole crops, potatoes, and more are still available. Bread and baked goods, meats, fish, mushrooms and preserved foods are abundant. Try some prepared pancakes, waffles, sausage sandwhiches, authentic Mexican Tacos, Greek food, Afghan cuisine, special coffees, teas, kombucha and more. SNAP may be used to purchase eligible food, and is matched with Virginia Fresh Match.

With the 5 cent plastic bag tax coming into affect, Market Central now offers a reusable bag Take One Leave One option. Help keep our carbon footprint down!

As always, on behalf of local growers and small businesses, we appreciate the support of the community.

The following list is the latest report for the Dec. 10 vendors. Weather and unforseen circumstances may affect the final attendance.
