Farmers Market at Ix Art Park, June 11, 2022

Hello Market Friends,

Some of your favorite vendors are out this week, but have no fear, our stalwart farmers continue to be the rock of the market. The warm weather vegetables are increasing in numbers: sugar snap peas, beets, asparagas, summer squash, strawberries, and raspberries have appeared, augmenting the spring greens and cole crops. Greenhouse tomatoes are also available. Good news: Madison Mushrooms often runs out of product fairly early; Fae and Fauna, new mushroom vendor from Swope VA is helping to shore up the supply. One of their partners also brings pottery.

Although we are missing some bakers, there are good choices to fill your needs:

  • Little Hat Creek , a farm and bakery offers delicious breads and baked goods, along with vegetables.

  • Family Ties and Pies: sweet or savory pies and brioche.

  • Ambrosia offers Greek baked goods, desserts, baklava, quiches, etc.

  • Laziz produce, juise and sometimes sambosas

  • Angel’s Afghan Cuisine offers a wide range of Afghani baked goods.

  • the Stroopwafel Sisters make the famous Dutch treat on site

  • Made by Momo’s, and up and coming vendor offering baked goods and other home-made necessities.

  • Moonmaiden’s Delights and the Homestead Oven cover gluten free and vegan bread, baked goods and dessert options.

  • Good Phyte Food: gluten free, healthy, energy snacks and crackers.

The Market Central booth can help you find vendors and products.

The UVA Biology Outreach and Inclusion Team will be at the market this Saturday, along with voter registrars, and the Sierra Club.

Thanks so much for continueing to support local farms, food and arts. You are the best!
