Farmers Market at Ix, June 4, 2022

Wow, June already! At least we are still getting a few breaks in the heat. It won’t be long and it will just stay hot. One good thing with the longer and warmer days is more vegetables, fruits and flowers. Some vendors using greenhouses already have tomatoes. Sugar snap peas, strawberries and colecrops are offered by several vendors . Squash and cucumbers are not far behind. It’s still a good time to plant tomato, pepper and annual plants in home gardens. However don’t wait too much longer to give them time to get established before constant heat and perhaps, the end of the rainy season..

Tomorrow, we welcome a new flower vendor, Wayflowering Farm. Deep Roots Milling returns for their first Saturday of the month visit, and Origininal Farmacy is setting up for the first time as an alternate. Your favorite and dependable farms will set up as usual, along with bakers, value-added foods, prepared food vendors and artisans. Last but not least, we welcome The Stroopwafel Sisters. They are from Holland, originally marketed their authentic Dutch treat at markets in Seattle, and will be joining us tomorrow. They say they go well with coffee or tea.

Thank you for supporting local food and art at the Farmers Market at Ix! We look forward to seeing you there. Let us know what you like or need.

Tomorrow’s vendors. A late addition: Finn Lynch. Finn makes irresistable wool felted puppets, sculptures, and embroidery. They will be next to Market Central.
