Farmers Market at Ix Art Park, April 1, 2023 Spring Hours 8:00 to 12:00!

Time marches on! Be sure to note the shift to spring hours, 8:00 to 12:00. As April starts, we’re welcoming the first wave of farmers and growers who are returning for the new spring season. This week, we welcome back Whisper Hill, Second Mountain, Calixto Farm, Pies and Produce, and Orion Family Farm. They will join Little Hat Creek, Sweet Greens, Gathered Threads, Singing Earth Produce, Bellair, Olive Branch Gardens, and Agriberry. Our meat producers are Free Union Grass Farm, Nature’s Bridge Farm, Swallow Barn Farm, Indigenous Harvest, Inglewood Farm, Hog Haven, and Cold Country Salmon. We also have farms that produce herbs and flowers and crossover farms that produce in several categories. In that group are Orion Family Farm, Soul Soleil Farm, Edgewood Apiary, Ternion Springs, Bee Conscious, Natural Roots Farm, and Gathered Threads Two mushroom farms are Madison Mushrooms and Rappahannock River Mushrooms. That’s a lot of farms and there are a few yet to come! Market Central’s mission is to grow and maintain support for these farms to keep them sustainable and provide the community access to fresh, local food.

The first of the month is also when Deep Roots Milling brings freshly ground grain and flour. Not to be missed, the The UVA Biology Outreach and Inclusion team will be presenting a project on cell biology near the management table.

We look forward to seeing you this week at the Market at Ix. You can shop with cash, cards, SNAP, and market tokens. Gift cards, and reusable bags are available.

The following vendors have signed up for April 1, however some high winds are predicted which may affect attendance. We will try and keep you posted.

Thank you!
