As I write this post, it is 88 degrees outside for about the 6th time this spring, and I’m confused about what season we are in. At least we are supposed to have a better chance of rain this coming week, so go ahead and buy those tomatoes, herbs, strawberry plants and flowers. In another week it should be safe to plant frost sensitive plants. SNAP customers may also use SNAP and Fresh Match to purchase food-producing plants and seeds. Here’s hoping for a good growing season!

This Saturday is Earth Day, and weather permitting, the Citizens Climate Lobby, Charlottesville ReLeaf, UVA Mathemeticians, and TomTom and Ix Art Park have planned activities. Even with last minute changes, you can count on the farmers, plant growers and food producers to be there.
