Farmers Market at Ix Aug 5, 2023

Good market weather is on tap so expect a big turnout of vendors this Saturday. Just so you know, you can always expect the farmers and most prepared food vendors to show up in any kind of weather. They harvest and prepare the day(s) ahead of the market and the weather on market day will not affect their attendance. We never cancel the market unless there are dangerous conditions for both vendors and customers. The weather does affect other non-farm or food vendors. Some of the art products or vendors cannot withstand blowing, heavy rain, high winds, or extreme temperatures. Personal situations when vendors and families go on vacation, have babies, become ill, or experience unexpected events also affect regular business. This explanation gives some insight into what might seem to be a constantly revolving lineup of vendors. Then there are the back-up, alternate, and occasional vendors! For this reason, checking this market blog is your best bet to find out what’s happening at the market.

This week we welcome the non-profit Southern Environmental Law Center who is sponsoring our environmental programs this year. They will be letting the public know more about what they are doing and what we can do to preserve the environment and combat climate change. In vendor news, the first Saturday of every month is your only chance to catch Deep Roots Milling, so tomorrow is your time. Crescent Moon Confections is returning after a hiatus, and we welcome back Gifted Greenery for the first time this season. Coming up next week, we will be celebrating National Farmers Market Week, spearheaded by The Farmers Market Coalition, and American Farmland Trust. We’ll let you know more about the impact of farmers markets in your community. Thanks for the part that you play.

The following vendors have signed up for the market, and can be found in the numbered spots.
