The first week of November finds us pulling out our warm weather clothes again, and opening the windows. For the market this week, several vendors are out, including Deep Roots Milling. The weather has messed up their schedule this year- they fell behind on orders due to draught that slowed down the stream for their water mill. It’s bit of a hike, but you can visit their mill the first Sunday of every month. At Woodson’s Mill.
This week we’ll emphasize the many prepared food vendors that you can find at the market. It's hard to decide which ones to try, so we recommend trying different ones every week! The choices include the Texas fusion food of SFG Foods, Sweet Janes Kitchen Maryland Crab Cakes, Empanadas Market Argentine style empanadas (coming soon), Sweet Home Desserts crepes, Hands Off Maria Guatemalan tamales, Mexican Tacos, Oakshire breakfast sandwiches, Hog Haven breakfast sandwiches (both use their own farm-raised pork), Cloud 9 SE Asian Street food (fluffy as a cloud), Bomonti Crepes, Ambrosia prepared Greek dishes, Angel's Afghan Cuisine, AfriKan Moto Cuisine, and The Pie Guy for savory hand pies and Rum Punch Jamaican Cuisine (out this week). Rybas's Pierogi are available frozen to take home for a meal. In addition, there are dozens of bakers, and pickles, sauces, kimchi, kraut, jam and preserved foods. We’ll feature another vendor type each week.

As Starr Hill, we find new farmers Flossies Farmstead with fall greens, microgreens, winter squash, eggs, and herbal products. Rum Punch, AfriKa Moto Cuisine, Alpine Valley Soaps, Sweet Antojos Desserts, From Around the World Pickles, and Sheriq with one of a kind hand-made clothing with African style fabrics and prints have all signed up. Enjoy a Sunday morning in a low-key relaxed market space and support this neigbhorhood market.
