Welcome to March at the Market at Ix, the transition month between winter and spring. The hard winter will set back the return of the farms, but spring greens and radishes are gradually appearing, and egg production speeds up. In the meantime, there are plenty of food producers and home goods to choose from. Deep Roots Milling resumes their first of the month appearance, along with Nona’s Italian Cucina. Peacemeal Farm, Hi-D’s Popsicles, and Stroopwafles are back. We might have overdone it with pottery this week: PAS, Hawksbill, Mars Makes, and Maggie’s Pottery are setting up. Owl Spoon Water Kefir is a new product, and some of you may remember Swallowbarn Farm from previous years: they offer herd shares, chicken, and eggs. We have to see what Kloppervok Krafts is all about! You will see familiar faces returning, and some new ones, too. As usual, with 80 vendors signed up, you’ll need to check the vendor map to find out who is attending and where they will be.
SNAP can be used to purchase eligible food, and will be matched with equal value of VA Fresh Match for fresh fruits and vegetables.
