The community of farmers, producers, vendors, and market sponsors truly appreciates your support. In response to the Corona Virus, the markets have scattered into different directions and venues. As the situation with the virus and social distancing changes, we want to clarify what your options are at the Farmers Market at Ix. We are a flexible full service market to help meet your needs!
You may walk in to this market and shop! We have always held this option. Thanks to the Ix Art Park, we have the space to safely spread out, and with masks and gloves, transactions can be conducted safely. This is not just our opinion. A professor at Dartmouth recently published research that shows the chances of contamination are highest indoors with long term exposure to high density population engaging in activities such as talking, singing, yelling, or coughing and sneezing. A short term activity such as exchanging money and food with sanitized hands or gloves outdoors is relatively safe. The research is here: https://erinbromage.com/home

You can order from most vendors on their websites. The list of individual vendors and their websites is available on a separate post.
You can use cash
Many vendors accept card payments. Occasionally the internet service fails for card readers. In that case, the tokens are the best option. See next option.
You can use tokens. If you are out of cash, or the vendor does not take card payments, you can receive tokens from Market Central through a wireless terminal transaction.
Market Central is the only market currently able to take SNAP payments. SNAP can be used to purchase eligible food (no hot, plated food or drinks). SNAP purchases are matched dollar for dollar with incentive coupons for the purchase of fruits, vegetables, and edible plants.
