Nov. 20, last market before Thanksgiving

Hello Market Community,

Time continues to march on toward the Holidays and the end of 2021. Many of our farm vendors will stay on year round (except for our brief hiatus from Dec. 18 until mid-January). But we say goodbye to Sweet Greens this week for the winter. Their flower and produce season was lovely this year. Be aware that some regular vendors will be taking off Nov. 27 to enjoy the Thanksgiving week-end. However, many craft vendors look forward to filling the open spaces to entice you with their creations.

Our special guest this week is UVA Global Problems, Local Solutions Club:

“Global Problems, Local Solutions is a student-run organization at UVA that strives to address prevalent global issues at a local level through education, service, and advocacy. We hope through working locally in Charlottesville, we can show empathy to better understand issues from a global perspective. By tabling at the Farmers Market, one of the three focus committees, Sustainability, hopes to enlighten market-goers to the benefits of a plant based diet for personal wellbeing as well as the health of the Earth!"

They will be offering information and a taste test of plant based snacks and treats! The Market at Ix is likely a receptive audience. Thanks UVA students! Look for them in the Red Tent area.

This is the only week the very popular Temalle Baskets will be setting up until December.
