As we get deeper into Fall, more vendors are ending their growing seasons We hope to see Second Mountain Farm from Rockingham Co. and TGR Kombucha from the Warrenton area return for the 2022 season. Cold weather greens, root crops, mushrooms, meats, baked goods, prepared foods and specialty goods such as chocolate, tempeh, hummus, etc. are still available. We are bringing in new vendors as they apply for the holiday season. This week, Ballerino Creamery from Staunton will be selling cheese. Flora and Fauna is offering garden related woodcraft for sale, joining two other woodcrafters: Spalted Rock Woodcraft and Feel Good Bench. Last week a duct tape sculptor began to set up with us (for real !); Scratch Pasta is a new vendor, and we welcome two herbal product vendors: Herb Angel, and Soul Soleil Farm. Hope you enjoy the local products!
Other activities:
The UVA Biology Outreach group will be at the market this week, in the red tent area. Their topic will be “Biodiversity in Your Backyard”. (including evolution in the compost!)
A Charlottesville City Trails Intern is conducting outreach to find out what residents would like to see at our parks. Feel free to speak with her in the red tent area.
Don’t forget to compost waste products at the market if compostable, and support the program with the purchase of a market sticker at the Market Central booth.
