Market at Ix, Mar 26, 2022

Hello there,

It’s the last market of the Winter Market 2022 season. We have now sponsored 5 years of Winter Markets in the Charlottesville area. The five year mark shows that there is community support for a year round market from both the vendor and consumer perspective. In April, we move into the third year round Market at Ix. The market hours will shift to 8:00 to 12:00 on April 2, to keep in sync with the seasonal shifts in light and warm weather.

More and more vendors are applying to this market, and we are exploring creative ways to expand and share opportunity. The Thursday Night Market will start on May 9, from 4:30 to 7:30, and feature farmers, artisans, and prepared foods. The Ix Art Park will also host art activities. Stay tuned for more information.

A Market Central Board member just completed a 4 week market development training with Project for Public spaces. We hope to share and incorporate the things we learned into local market development for the future. We welcome new ideas and input from the community.

This weeks brings the return of Sweet Greens Farm, Double H Farm, Elena Day Pies and Produce, and Popitos Pizza. We welcome Orion Farm for the first time. Some returning artisans for the season include the Clockwork Witch, Crochet Aquatic, and a new artisans: Artichoke and Co. Artisans from the Discover Black CVille Black Artisans Fair will also be presented at the market. More info on the Fair is available at the IX Art Park website.
