Farmers Market at Ix, April 19, 2022

Second Mountain organic farm

Every week brings something new at the market. The crops mature, new produce appears, new vendors appear, and the artisans are always creating something of interest each week.

We hope you were introduced to the milling operation at a historic water powered mill in Nelson County last week. The flour and grain from Deep Roots Milling will be returning monthly.

Also, returning for their season opener are Orchid Station, Perennial Love Botanicals, and Jason McLeod.

This week, Bee Conscious is out because of an event at the Dairy Market where they have their bakery. In their place, you will find Double H Farm. Some of your favorite vendors are in different spaces: Soul Soleil, Peach Pie Crafts, Herb Angel and Tui Tea will be on the plaza. Flora and Fauna Woodcraft, and Ballarino Creamery will be returning to their local markets in Crozet and Staunton at the end of the month, so enjoy their products while you can. We expect Tonoloway tree syrups to return in May with the spring maple syrup harvest.

Last but not least, the Thursday Night Market will be opening their season on May 5. A weekday market will help fill in the grocery gaps at the end of the week, and offer prepared foods for dinner and supplies for the upcoming weekend. There will be art programs at the Ix Art Park at the same time as the market.

If you are looking for employment opportunities, contact Market Central for vendors and farmers who have work. Market Central is also looking for an assistant manager!

Below are the vendors for 4/16/2022. Temalle Baskets will be there if you need an Easter basket!
