Farmers Market at Ix, July 30, 2022

Get ready for Farmers Market week, Aug 7-13! Farmers Markets are great for communities on so many levels: consumer health, the health of the environment, support of farms, supply chain disruptions, job support, the local economy, and community goodwill. Let’s celebrate our markets by acknowledging the contributions that all of us bring to make it happen every week, twice a week, and year round. With customers, sponsors, farmers, managers, vendors, the dogs, the food, artists, entrepreneurs and volunteers, it couldn’t happen without you. Give yourselves a pat on the back!

This week, the market is a good example of the entrepreneurs that continue to try their hand at new businesses to feed you and delight you. Besides our rock solid core farmers and producers, we welcome back some of our bakers who have been out: Althea Bread is back from maternity leave, Ambrosia returns form abroad (at least occasionally), Crescent Moon Confections is back from life’s interruptions, and Stroopwafel Sisters, too. We also welcome Bonas Beignets, Crocheted Cacti, and Lydia Jacobs Studios. Returning from their first time, is Autism Sanctuary, Rappahannock River Mushrooms, and Soulsmith Kombucha. We can’t wait for you to try out these new products. Tell us what you think!
