Farmers Market at Ix, Oct. 14, 2023
Hello Market Community,
We seem to be stuck in a weather pattern that brings rain on Saturdays. You can count on the farmers coming to the market because they had nice weather during the week for growing and harvesting. They’re not worried about rain during the market, so don’t let it stop you from coming for your weekly produce and baked goods. However, the rain does prevent many of the non-food vendors from setting up because of risk of damaging their products. These conditions bring up the need to address better facilities for all markets in the community. Scottsville, Green County, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg and many more places in VA have covered market spaces. We would like to work with the community to achieve that goal. Also worth mentioning, the Thursday market , Sunset Market, had nice weather, but is only open till Oct. 26. It’s good to have options. SNAP and Fresh Match programs are active at both markets.
The Saturday Market hours will change to 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 4. Nov. 5 we go off Daylight Savings Time. We look forward to heading into the holiday season with you.
The following vendors are scheduled for 10/14. Due to the weather, there may be some last minute cancellations.
