Farmers Market at Ix Art Park, Oct 21, 2023

It looks like we will escape the rain for tomorrow. The market will be full, with fall vegetables and fruits at their peak. The gourds, pumpkins, Indian corn, Dahlia’s and Mums bring gorgeous fall color. This week’s non-profit is Global Problems, Local Solutions. These students from UVA have a point to make with vegetarian food. Bruce Carveth and his little band with puppet dancers will be setting up too, bringing cheerful concertina music. Hope you find them somewhere at the market.

The artist and craft vendors continue to ebb and flow, as better weather allows them to set up, and the holiday season is approaching. New vendors from the Thursday Sunset Market are transferring into the Saturday market as schedules allow. We have crochet and laser woodwork from Black Sheep Creations joining the Saturday market. She has warm winter wear, useful household items, and cute, hand-crocheted stuffed animals. Pam’s Jewelry is also coming in with handmade beaded jewelry. For those looking for hot pepper products, Hammered Inn returns this week, and Herb Angel returns with herbal shrubs and more.

Be ready for the market hours to change to 9:00-1:00 on Nov. 4.

The SNAP and SNAP match program continues. Information about vendor training and jobs with vendors and market admin is available on this Market Central website Market Central

Let us know how we can help you! Thanks for attending the Farmers Market at Ix!
