Farmers Market at Ix, October 12, 2024
It’s finally cooling off and the pumpkins, gourds, apples, cider and greens are so welcome. The Mums are hardy, but enjoy the Dahlia’s while they last- the first frost will be the end of them, and for many of our flowers. Gillispie’s County Line Farm will be back this week and they offer dried flower arrangements. Chyrsanthemums are availabe at Calixto Farm and Singing Earth produce. It’s also a good time to plant perennials and woody plants for next year. Laurel Farm has a good assortment of native hardy plants and The Silver Grouper jewelry vendor sells houseplants for winter enjoyment.
In the baked goods department, we welcome new vendor, Triple E, with Russian treats. Have you discovered With Carrington yet? She is a baker of gluten free and vegan products.
Unfortunately it seems to be the week for car issues or illness. Ryba’s Pierogi, Philosopher’s Tea and PAS Ceramics had to cancel. Peacemeal is also out but Oro, Chaotic Good Tempeh, and SFG Foods, are in.
We hope you will find your weekly supply of healthy groceries, a delicious breakfast or lunch, and we appreciate your support of local food, farms and art.
