Farmers Market at Ix, October 19, 2024 Market Hours: 9:00 a.m -1:00 p.m.
Hello Market Friends,
The market hours shifted an hour later so that it will be lighter and warmer. Come for breakfast, stay for lunch! Breakfast sandwiches, tamales, breakfast tacos, pizza, Rum Punch meals, crepes, and pies from Pie Guy and Family Ties and Pies, are among the great breakfast, snack and lunch options. As if you needed more, this week 17 bakers offer irresistible breads, pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, crackers and plant based snacks.
This week’s vendor activity
JBird Coffee will be out, but Taiga and Frolic will cover your coffee needs. Hot tea is offered by Philosopher’s Tea.
Tilman’s Farm pickles started 2 weeks ago, and returns this week.
Chicken is only available from Free Union Grass Farm, but Gillespie’s County Line and Peacemeal Farm will be back next week.
Some of our farms in the valley and higher elevations may have experienced a frost this week, which may affect produce and flowers. However, the greens and root crops will be sweeter. Pumpkins, gourds, and plants are available including succulent plants offered by Market Central for donations to our administration fund. We also have insulated market bags and stickers that will make great holiday gifts for the market fans among family and friends. Also at the market management booth are the current and back issues of Edible Blue Ridge at no cost.
Don’t forget to check the fall schedule of the Market Central and Bread and Roses food business or food preservation classes. Just Food Just Economy programs
We’ll see you at the market.
