Farmers Market at Ix, May 25, 2024

Kick off your Memorial Day weekend with a visit to the Farmers Market at Ix. With summer around the corner, the variety of produce you need to stay healthy increases every week. Greenhouse tomatoes and blueberries are now available. A recent article in Consumer Reports about pesticide residue in commercial produce strengthens the argument to support your local sustainable growers and ask them about their growing practices.

If you did not know it, Market Central and Bread and Roses are collaborating to offer classes to the community for home or business. A food/herb dehydration class will be held on June 3, taught by Michelle McKenzie of Bellair Farm. Waterbath canning (pickles and jam) will be offered on July 15, also taught by Michelle. Both classes take place at 6:00 p.m at Bread and Roses, Trinity Episcopal Church, and are free with required registration: class registration More information is available at the Market Central managers booth at the market.

The market is full this week, hopefully we can fit it in between rainstorms. We are open rain or shine.
