Farmers Market at Ix, June 1, 2024

How can it be we are at the halfway point of the year? Three more weeks to the summer solstice. This week has been lovely - soak in the comfortable weather before the heat sets in. Please remember to use our compost waste stations, reusable bags and containers to address climate change.

The market has reached its peak with farm vendors, and most locally grown products are represented. We will have a few more vendors with seasonal specialties coming in later, including the IRC New Roots growers who grow vegetables relevant to their cultures. A grape vender will come in during late summer, and new vendor Thistlerock Meade is scheduled to start soon. Calixto Farm is finally back this week. Our other spaces are filled with bakers, value added food producers, and arts/craftspeople. The first of the month means Deep Roots Milling and Nona’s Italian Cucina are setting up. We welcome MixEve this week as a representative of the LaunchPad program which, in collaboration with the Charlottesville Investment Collaborative, sponsors new entrepreneur businesses.
