Farmers Market at Ix, July 20, 2024

Hello Friends,

In celebration of the 25th National Farmers Market Week, you’re invited to the Farmers Market Forum on Tues. August 6 at the Jefferson Madison Central Library in the Swanson Room from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. There would be no farmers markets without the public, so come review where we’ve been, where we are now, and contemplate where we are going. You may RSVP to estimate numbers of attendees, but it is not required to attend. We’d love to see you there. Market Forum RSVP

The dog days of summer affect vendor attendance, not to mention the resurgence of COVID, other illnesses, vacations, etc. Our stalwart farmers, the heart of the market, are dependable regardless of the weather. The draught no doubt is not helpful for growing crops, but the harvests seems plentiful for now. Try a Singing Earth watermelon!

Returning this week is C’ville Crumpets, if you have not had a chance to try the specialty of this family enterprise. They are donating their proceeds to non-profits. Thistlerock Mead made their debut last week, and will return in August. For fans of heat, Hammered Inn embraces the season of hot peppers! Meryem’s Homemade is also back from their yearly trek to Turkiye. Last call for Black Sheep Creations for a while. Due to changes in jobs, they are not returning until fall. If you’ve been eying a cute stuffed animal or crocheted item , this Saturday is the time to get it! For more information about the vendors and their products, a link to the market map is below. Scroll over the vendor name for more information.

SNAP customers welcome to shop with SNAP and match with VA Fresh Match.

See you at the market!
