Farmers Market at Ix, August 3, 2024

Whaaat?? August already? The heat and humidity have returned, but fortunately, the market hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00, giving you plenty of time to get your coffee, tea, kombucha, or smoothies to get you through your shopping agenda.

Of note this week with the season peaking, we rely on the farms as the heart of the market for fresh produce, eggs, meat and fish. The first market of the month means Deep Roots Milling will be bringing freshly milled Virginia grain. The occasional vendors this week include

  • Blue Ridge Beeswax

  • Hammered Inn Farms and Gardens hotsauce and hot honey ( a collaboration with Sourwood Honey),

  • Spalted Rock Woodcraft with Albemarle Wildflowers and Piedmont Master Gardeners,

  • Laurel Farms for native plants

  • Chaotic Good Tempeh and Oro Pasta from Richmond,

  • Kossiwa’s Sewing

  • Nona’s Italian Cucina who only comes once a month with award winning tomato sauce.

Bakers include Althea Bread, Little Hat Creek Farm, Bee Conscious, Homestead Oven Sourdough, Good Phyte plant based snacks, Mr. Baker (let them eat cake), Meryem’s Homemade, BakerNoBakery and Big Soup, Prepared Foods include Focaccia Divina, Hands Off Maria (tamales), Mexican Tacos, Tico Loco crepes, Hog Haven pork and sandwiches, Sweet Janes crabcakes, Rum Punch (last week till September!) SFG Foods, and Laziz Produce. JBird Coffee is on vacation, but Frolic Coffee and Taiga Pura Vida will cover coffee needs. All of the vendors and their products can be seen by clicking the vendor name on the market map. SNAP and Fresh Match eligible vendors are signed at the market. Farmers Market Map
