Traffic Pattern Changes at Ix Art Park starting Aug. 21, 2021
We hope that you have been out to attend and enjoy the Farmer's Market, held each Saturday at Ix. This has allowed many farmers and artisans a safe space sell their goods, during these strange times. We want to continue to support our farmers and artisans. The Ix Art Park has worked diligently to provide for a healthy and safe environment for vendors and patrons. As we continue to host the Farmer's Market at IX, we need to take an additional step to ensure a safe experience for everyone. Beginning on Saturday, August 21, 2021, 2nd Street will be closed from the top of the "Fish Road" to the "Love Butt" statue. This will allow for a safer area for shoppers to walk throughout the market. It is a tight area for drivers to maneuver and we want to be thoughtful of pedestrian safety. Please see the above map for the red markings, indicating the closed portion of 2nd St SE.
With this change we will also close the parking lot directly in front of Brazos. This lot will now host vendors that were previously positioned in the lot adjacent. On the above map, you will see the lot in front of Brazos marked out with a red line. The lot adjacent will now be open for parking and only accessible by the single lane road on the side hill from Monticello Avenue. This road and parking lot is outlined in yellow.
Patrons wishing to find additional parking or visit any of our tenants that are open for business on Saturday may still easily enter the property from the Elliot Avenue entrance or the Blenheim Avenue entrance.
We appreciate you understanding our traffic pattern change and thoughts to work towards a safe environment for the market on Saturday mornings. If you have any questions, just let us know! We also ask that you share this information to other market attendees.
