Farmers Market at Ix, Sept 7, 2024

September is the month when the summer produce winds down, and we transition into apples, gourds, root vegetables, fall greens and fall flowers. The summer bounty will appear in jams, sauces, syrups and honey for winter. We don’t know if our Maple Syrup vendor will return. Last winter was too warm, even in Highland County, to produce a good crop. The first Saturday of the month is when you can catch Deep Roots Milling for local, fresh milled flour; and Nona’s Italian Cucina, for award winning tomato sauce based on a recipe learned during military duty in Italy. We welcome new vendor With Carrington, a baker with vegan and gluten free options. Many of our regular bakers will be out this week, so check the vendor list if you are looking for someone in particular. With our ever-rotating slate of artists and products, the vendor list is your best bet for information. Scroll over the spaces on the map to find out more about the vendor.

Next week on Sunday Sept 15, the Vegetarian Festival (not affiliated with Market Central) will be held at the Ix Art Park.

Families with SNAP should be seeing Federal Sunbucks benefits in their account for school aged children.
